POLICY
The following chart summarizes the times at which the support requirement must be met. When more than one time is indicated, the requirement can be met at any of the indicated times. Consult the pertinent sections of the benefit chapters in the RS portion of POMS for detailed discussion of the times at which the support requirement must be met.

1 Time of entitlement means effective filing date as explained in GN 00204.007, or the first day of the month a DIB is converted to a RIB.
2 Can be used only if period of disability did not end before NH's death.
3 Dependency is deemed for these categories of beneficiaries. The support requirement is needed only as it relates to GPO.
